I would hrdly call the soldiers "mindless puppets", as even if they wish to disobey an order, or they disagree with the conflicts, they can't say or do anything about it. Their hands are tied.

I wouldn't call soldiers mindless puppets, all of them volunteered to fight for whatever reasons they have. Most of them are much more aware of the situation than any of us are. Being required to obey orders is not synonymous with being mindless. That's how the military works- if it were any other way we wouldn't be an independent nation anymore.

I only dismiss hypocritical opinions. They said that if Hitler won WWII, then there would be world peace, and there most definitely would not.

Obedience to a tyrannical government is pretty mindless. Iraq and Afghanistan are currently being occupied by an American junta. For a country that supposedly champions freedom and rights, America has most certainly trampled upon the freedom and rights of these sovereign nations.

I hate how this is used as an excuse for murder. I think anyone who can kill is fucked up in the head, war is no exception - I am almost ashamed to think that some of my ancestors killed in the war and used this as an excuse.

"Fighting for your country" seems like it's glamorizing murder, making it acceptable.  

It is almost as bad as terrorists who use their religion as their reason for murder and destruction.

You'll probably all disagree, but wanted to hear other opinions.

Um not really. We are temporarily disrupting their freedom and rights but we are instilling in those nations a democratic form of government which will give them more freedom than they ever had under Saddam and the Taliban.
