Again, you can't say that with certainty. Personally, were I in that situation, it wouldn't be my own pain I'd be trying to avoid. I can't speak for them either, but I doubt that they were entirely selfish in their desire to keep her alive either.
Again, I never said that. Your point?
Ergo, because she was only considering herself, while they were considering both themselves and her, she was the more selfish one. Logic ftw.
...She was never only considering herself. She just valued her own pain above 0. For starters, you've not considered the amount of people forcing her to stay alive, a considerable amount, versus her one. That aside, she kept trying to win for so long not for herself, but for them. The only thing about herself that mattered to her was the pain she was in, she had no self worth whatsoever. Look, it's a very complex situation, you know hardly anything about it. Stop jumping to conclusions which have to date been invariably false.

The question in the thread was "who is the selfish one when suicide is involved?" and the question that has followed has been "if both are selfish, who is more selfish?" The point I am making is that regardless of the pain she was going through, your friend was the more selfish one in this situation. That doesn't mean that she was a bad person or anything along those lines, only that she was more selfish.

I strongly disagree with suicide because I believe neither party will truly benefit from it. The person who wishes to commit suicide is selfish in the fact that he is looking for an easy way out with no regards as to who it will affect. The people who are preventing him/her are more in the right, as they are trying to help the person, however they are causing him to suffer by not letting him commit it. I believe that no one will really benefit from committing suicide and it is always better to find another way to happiness and peace.
------- Someday zombies WILL take over the world. Until that day I'll be bored. See the hypnosis.

Naw, its your choice to live or not. Its not like people who kill themselves don't know what life has to offer; there's good times, bad times, love, loss, work, kids, aging, living day-to-day. They just don't want it. You know; "no thanks". I consider it pretty brave, actually. IMO, if you've never thought about ending your life at least once, then you need to do some more thinking. Actually, despite popular belief, suicide is not illegal.
