I love how people go around, saying they want the world to be peaceful, saying they look down upon violence and civil disorder. They claim to follow a common symbol, such as Bob Marley, and then turn around and do exactly against what their said beliefs are. I really think is a common disorder associated with Pathological and Chronic lieing. A lot of teens these days seem to have to morph there lives into something that seems acceptable by the people they are around in todays society. Its like the christian who goes to church every sunday and then commits the same sin every saturday. I think kids are pressured into being something there not these days that they have to make false rulebook for their life. And you can point these people out by their breakings of those rules. I almost want to take a logbook of peoples actions and then write down their so called "Beliefs," and then present them and show them wrong.

Do you think there is some sort of connection to the modern day pressure to be something you're not, or maybe a small common mental disorder? (such as Pathological Lieing)

I think for someone to fall victim to such advertising and persuasion is for someone to have a more marked mental condition than the one you're describing as the results of it. Something like.. being ridiculously gullible and sheltered.

Then again, if a child just watches TV and reads teen magazines all day, they're bound to come out with some sort of social crutch, IMO.

I believe the reason is much more fundamental.

The basic human nature is selfish lust. None of us can run away from that. Don't you dare tell me you're a self-sacrifical being - for that nature itself is a reflection of selfishness put behind a facade of so called "holy" living.

Humans want everything - they want to be acknowledged, important, rich, they want everything they want. And they will go to any means to get it, and of course, the easiet way to do so is to be a hypocryte and not even knowing it, so we don't feel guilty about it.

Its in every being on this planet . . its something we have to accept that sometimes, our own greed and lust takes over. Well, make sure u do your best that it doesn't . . . Thats whyt he world is such a screwed up place. . . And we can't do much about it because were all corrupted somewhere inside.

The key to victory is the element of surprise.
When that doesn't work, I guess I just gotta gun you down.

I completely agree, but i really dont parade around saying I am a follower of some sort of peace sign, and then go and shoot someone. I just dont understand how a child in highschool can go smoke marijuana, say he follows bob marley's examples of life and how you should act, then go make fun of a kid in school and commit an act of hatred toward someone. You cant say that we are all hypocrytes, its more of who is willing to say, yea, sometimes I'm a little mean to people, which i regret.. but it happens. Or you're the type of person who is so concerned with their image, that you have to tell other people what i described above, a follower of peace.
